“Relancel of the Sahel” is an initiative designed to strengthen access to education for marginalized young people, especially in rural and disadvantaged areas. This program is part of a regional dynamic supported by the World Bank and Germany. Funded to the tune of 137 million US dollars, this program benefits Mauritania for 72.32 million dollars, including a 44 million dollar concession loan from the International Development Association (IDA) and a German grant of 12.9 million dollars

The project is mainly aimed at young people who have dropped out of the school system or who have never had access to school. There would be 850,000 young people, 50% of whom are girls, to have to benefit from this project extended to nomadic and refugee populations. This pilot project is being monitored with the watchful eye of the World Bank, whose vice-president for West and Central Africa, the Mauritanian, Ousmane Diagana, recalled that the two countries alone have 5.1 million young people who do not attend
