A fake agent of the Ministry of the Interior of Senegal appeared before the bar of the Dakar Grand Offences Court for fraud involving an amount of 16 million CFA francs.

Omar Niane D. was sentenced to two years in prison, including three months in prison. He will have to pay Gallas, a Senegalese living in Spain, the sum of 14 million; 4 million to Marième Dieng; 1 million to Saliou and 1 million to Sokhna

In reality, the Senegalese Gallas came into contact with Omar Niane, through a certain Amy Collé Dieng. The latter allegedly told him that she had a friend who worked at the Ministry of the Interior and who would be able to find visas for him. Gallas, who came to Senegal, contacted the lady who gave him the number of “the agent of the Ministry of the Interior”. Niane sets his rates: 1,000,000 CFA francs for a diplomatic passport; for the Schengen visa, he asks for 750,000 CFA francs. The victim indicates having handed in 13 million 200 thousand for the candidates.”
