A bill authorizing the ratification of the statutes of the Asian Bank for Investment in Basic Infrastructure was adopted last Saturday at the National Assembly of Mauritania.

Mauritania's membership in the Asian Bank will allow small national companies to access financing, according to Lemrabott ould Benahi, Minister of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Tourism. According to the Government, Mauritania's accession to this bank is an important step, especially as the country's situation has evolved thanks to good debt management, which now allows Mauritania's gradual access to the commercial financing stage with the required wisdom.

In fact, the 106-member bank gives priority to projects that strengthen sustainable basic infrastructure and supports countries that work tirelessly to achieve environmental and development goals.
