Bank debit interest rates during the month of February 2023 fell by 8 pdb compared to the previous month, according to the results of the UEMOA-wide survey on banking conditions.

The BCEAO informed that, excluding charges and taxes, the average borrowing rate was 6.62%, compared with 6.70% a month earlier and 6.26% a year earlier. For the Bank, the cost of bank credit fell in all EU countries except Côte d'Ivoire. Decreases were recorded in Guinea-Bissau (7.50% against 9.16%), Niger (8.86% against 9.29%), Togo (7.45% against 7.65%), Mali (7.88% against 8.06%), Senegal (5.80% against 5.91%), Benin (7.18% against 7.26%) and Burkina (7.75% against 7.82%)
