An ECOWAS mission was received on 14 September by the President of the National Assembly of Senegal, Amadou Mame Diop. This visit, which began on 11 September last year, is of paramount importance.

During the visit, a parliamentary evaluation of two crucial entities was held, which are the ECOWAS Centre for Gender Development (CCDE) and the Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA). The ECOWAS Centre for Gender Development (CCDE) is at the centre of attention of this parliamentary mission, with a twofold objective. The aim is to promote the active involvement of women in the regional integration process and to better understand the working conditions of the actors in the centre. The focus is on strengthening human and financial resources, in preparation for the expansion of the Centre within ECOWAS member countries, which thus aim to allow for more meaningful gender involvement
