On Friday, October 6, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony took place between the Government of Kenya and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group. It's about hosting the 2024 Bank Group Annual Meetings in Kenya, an East African country.

A press release indicated that the 2024 Annual Meetings will be held from 27 to 31 May 2024 in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The event includes the holding of the 59th Annual Assembly of the African Development Bank style="font-family: "Bookman Old Style”, "serif""> and the 50th Assembly of the African Development Fund, the Bank group concessional counter for low-income countries. The 2024 meetings will also allow leaders to discuss the progress made in Africa's socio-economic development. The Secretary of State for the Treasury and National Planning of Kenya, Njuguna Ndung'u, said that “the Government of Kenya is fully committed and dedicated to supporting the vision and strategy of the African Development Bank.
