Prudence Foundation and Junior Achievement announced, on Thursday March 25, 2021 in Abidjan, a new three-year partnership to train and inspire young Africans in financial education through the Cha-Ching Africa program.

For this great first in Côte d'Ivoire, this one-month training course is aimed primarily at 5,000 students in cm1 and cm2 classes, aged 9 to 11, and 300 teachers for the deployment of the program in 35 schools nationwide.

These young people will benefit from a curriculum based on four concepts, namely: winning; save, spend and donate. The ultimate goal is to prepare them to become financially savvy adults tomorrow.

“These values instilled at a very young age will become second nature for these children and they will allow them to succeed in their financial life,” says Aissata Tounkara Aissata Sangaré, Executive Director Junior Achievement Côte d'Ivoire.

“It is very important to invest in the education of children because they are the future. If they are not educated, the country will not evolve” continues Brown Rosaind, Customer, Claims and Marketing Director of Prudential Life Insurance.

For the State of Côte d'Ivoire, the Cha-Ching program is a private initiative that supports the efforts made on a daily basis to provide education to young Ivorians and guarantee them autonomy.

"The Cha-Ching program is really desired by the ministry because it helps us to implement the entrepreneurial education launched in 2015 to help students who have left the education system without any qualifications to integrate into society. “, welcomes Kouadio Emilie, in charge of entrepreneurship at the Department of School Life.

The Cha-Ching Africa program has been present in seven countries on the continent for the past ten years, notably in Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria. In total, more than 50,000 students and 1,300 teachers in 80 schools should benefit.
