Hacking Team has been hacked. This operation allowed free access and download of more than 400 GB of administrative documents, source code and emails.

The Hacking Team hack discovered that one of the documents that confirmed the claims made in the Their Eyes on Me report that Moroccan intelligence services used & eacute; the “Remote Control System” spy software to target those they perceive as their opponents.

According to the documents, the country's two intelligence agencies have renewed their contracts and are still using the spyware. Indeed, Morocco would have spent more than 3 million euros on Hacking Team equipment in over the past six years.

Also, a client list showed among the documents on the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST), the two Moroccan intelligence agencies, and the Supreme Council of National Defense ( CSDN) purchased Remote Control System. The DST obtained it in 2012 and the CSDN acquired it for the first time in 2009.

The Moroccan government said in a statement relayed by the MAP news agency that it had “taken legal action against certain people who prepared and released a report that includes serious accusations of espionage by its services.”
