In September 2022, a mobile platform will be active in the Hibiscus/Ruche zone. It has a production capacity of 30,000 b/d and will promote an increase in Gabon's oil production.

“Mabomo” which means “wealth” in a local language is the name chosen to refer to the initiative. According to information from the Ministry of Oil, Gas and Mines: “The jewel whose work was carried out by Lamprell, a company based in Dubai, should reach Gabon at the end of next September. The first and second phases following its installation should allow the drilling of six additional wells and an increase in oil production of around 30,000 barrels/day.”

According to Vincent de Paul Massassa, Gabonese Petroleum Minister, the new drilling rig will allow development of the Ruche, Ruche Nord-Est and Hibiscus fields. It must be said that the minister has already received “Mabomo” on August 4 in Dubai and hopes for the installation.
