The Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) launched a training course on investigative journalism in Côte d'Ivoire today on economic and financial crimes.

The objective of GIABA is to equip media actors in the community and to strengthen their synergy of action, in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing (LBC/FT). Thus, around thirty investigative journalists from television, radio, print and online media are participating in this regional training workshop, which provides a framework for implementing alliances within the network of journalists to better publish information on mechanisms to combat money laundering and terrorist financing (LBC/FT).

The course is led by media experts with experience in LBC/FT and GIABA staff, based on presentations, case studies, and interviews exchanges of experiences... The objective is to help participants to better write articles on LBC/ FT and to better handle all information relating to economic and financial crimes; this, by presenting their harmful effects on economic and financial crimes with rigor and responsibility state economies.
