Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon are considering a new project to support the development of the African continental free trade area and exploit the full potential of the sub-regional economies. This is the joint Chamber of Commerce between the two countries.

The African states are multiplying cooperation initiatives on various levels. Thus, the project to create an Ivorian-Cameroonian Chamber of Commerce was the subject of a discussion between Christophe Eken, President of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce (Ccima), and Mamoudou Fadil, Honorary Consul of Côte d'Ivoire in Douala on June 20, 2022.

According to the Ccima, the project could be done as the example of Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire who cooperate in the agricultural sector, which allows them to produce almost 70% of the world's cocoa. An opportunity to strengthen cooperation through concrete actions beneficial to economic operators of both countries.
