The Nile country has signed a contract for the construction of a vast solar panel complex in the Suez Canal region. The project will last three years and is expected to create hundreds of jobs.

The “Atom Solar Egypt” project is a partnership between Egyptian, Emirati, Bahraini and Chinese investors. This integrated industrial complex will be built on an area of 200,000 m² in the Sokhna industrial zone

The facility will have a production capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW) of solar cells, 2 GW of solar panels and a 1 gigawatt hour (GWh) energy storage system factory, the Madbouly office said in a statement.

The contract was signed by representatives of the developer TEDA-Egypt, Global South Utilities (GSU) from the United Arab Emirates, AH Industrial Management from Egypt, and the founder of Atom Solar Egypt, and the founder of Atom Solar Egypt, Ahmed Abu Hashima.
