Le rapport 2024 of the African Development Bank (ADB) Electricity Regulatory Index (ERI) mentions that the Energy Sector Regulatory Commission (CRSE) is ranked first in Africa in terms of regulation of the electricity sector.

The ERI 2024 report covers 43 countries from all geographic and linguistic areas of the African continent, according to a statement from the CRSE. In 2018, the year it entered the ranking, Senegal ranked 11th. The CRSE has since implemented several reforms that allowed it to progress to 2nd place in 2022, then to first position in 2024. Elle is an independent administrative authority, attached to the Presidency of the Republic.
