The Prime Minister (PM) of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnauth has appealed to India to help the country move prematurely off the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list. This was on the occasion of the signing ceremony of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) between the two countries as well as a series of other agreements. India has provided Mauritius with lines of credit for development in various sectors. Among other things, the removal of the island from the FATF grey list. Thus, Mauritius is counting on India for an exit from the grey list. According to Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, this government initiative confirms the commitment to improve the shortcomings identified in the legal arsenal to counter cases of money laundering and terrorist financing.
