Senegal obtained on Friday, August 8, 2025, the sum of 40 billion CFA francs at the end of its issuance of a simultaneous auction of 364-day treasury bills and assimilable 3 and 5-year treasury bonds organized on the UEMOA financial market.

This issue, carried out through the Directorate General of the Treasury and Public Accounting (DGTCP) and which took place in all UEMOA member countries, aims to mobilize the savings of natural and legal persons in order to ensure the coverage of the financing needs of the State budget of Senegal. To do this, the DGTCP had put an amount of 40 billion CFA francs up for auction. At the end of the operation, UMOA-Titres identified global submissions from investors of 43.670 billion FCFA. This corresponds to a coverage rate of 109.18% for the amount put up for auction.

The amount of bids accepted was 40 billion and the rejected one was 3.670 billion. This gives an absorption rate of 91.60%. Investors whose bids were selected will end up with a weighted average return of 6.97% for bonds, 7.64% for 3-year bonds and 7.54% for 5-year

bonds.

The Public Treasury has committed to investors to repay the bonds issued on the first business day following the due date set at August 9, 2026. Interest will be paid in advance and deducted from the face value of these vouchers

.

As for the repayment of the principal of the bonds, it will take place on the due date set at August 11, 2028 for 3-year bonds and August 11, 2030 for 5-year bonds. Interest will be paid per year at the rate of 6.30% for those of 3 years and 6.45% for those of 5 years, starting at the end of the first

year.
