According to the Director General of Taxes, Abou Sié Ouattara, the FNE will make it possible to reduce the costs associated with the editing and archiving of invoices, simplify VAT returns through pre-filling, improve the competitiveness of businesses, and strengthen the fight against against fraud.

It can also be generated either via a dedicated platform, or by directly interfacing with business billing software. Receipts will also be issued via RNE Issuing Terminals (TERNE) for retail transactions
