North Korean hackers broke into an American computer company to steal crypto sources. The information was relayed by the site zone

bourse.

“A hacker group backed by the North Korean government broke into an American IT management company and used it as a springboard to target an unknown number of cryptocurrency companies, according to two sources familiar with the matter,” the source said, adding that the Hackers broke into JumpCloud, a company based in Louisville, Colorado, in late June and used their access to the company's systems to target client cryptocurrency firms, with the aim of stealing digital money, the sources said

.

This hack shows that North Korean cyberspies, who previously only targeted cryptocurrency companies one by one, are now attacking businesses that can give them access to multiple sources of bitcoin and other digital currencies.

JumpCloud, which acknowledged the hack in a blog post last week, blamed it on a “sophisticated threat actor sponsored by a nation state.” The cybersecurity company CrowdStrike Holdings, which is collaborating with JumpCloud to investigate the breach, has confirmed that “Labyrinth Chollima” - the name it gives to a particular squad of North Korean hackers -

was behind the breach.

Independent research has confirmed CrowdStrike's claims.
