Last year was a difficult one for Unilever's Ivorian subsidiary. It is facing difficulties on its export markets, particularly in Mali, and with the sale of its tea business. It also suffered a loss of revenue and margins. The net loss of 6.3 billion FCFA, compared to a profit of 175,000 FCFA in 2021, is attributed to a 21% drop in its turnover (36.1 billion FCFA) and to the fall in sales of its food, body care and oral hygiene products throughout 2022. The company recorded a significant drop in revenue and margins due to the sale of its tea business to CVC Capital Partners in the fourth quarter of 2022
