Trade between Côte d'Ivoire and Tunisia has become very dynamic, said Monday, November 16, one of the officials of the Center for the Promotion of Exports "CEPEX" in Abidjan, Néamen Hamdani, during a videoconference.

For the year 2019, Tunisian exports to Côte d'Ivoire are valued at 54 million euros and from Côte d'Ivoire to Tunisia at 17 million euros.

According to Mr. Hamdani, exports from Côte d'Ivoire to Tunisia are based on coffee, cocoa, bananas, wood, marbles, etc. While deploring the difficulties of Tunisian economic operators to find Ivorian partners within the framework of their cooperation, he said he was confident of the dynamics of cooperation between the two nations in the years to come.

More than fifty Tunisian companies currently operate in Côte d'Ivoire. These companies operate in several sectors of activity, in particular (design office, buildings and public works (BTP), electrical equipment, etc.

At the initiative of Tunisia's "CEPEX" in Abidjan, these first virtual professional meetings between entrepreneurs, businessmen and women from Tunisia and their counterparts from 12 sub-Saharan African countries began on November 16.

The main target is made up of players operating in the agri-food, building materials and public works, medicines, health services, higher education and ICT sectors.

The CEPEX aims to generate agendas of well-stocked virtual business meetings for the benefit of Tunisian companies, all sectors of activity combined, in commercial opportunities and effective partnerships with their counterparts in sub-Saharan Africa.

It also aims to position and promote the “Tunisia Export” brand on international markets. The activity is part of the implementation of its vision to strengthen the trade network and optimize the exploitation of free trade agreements concluded between Tunisia and more than 130 countries.
