The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) announces a decline in lending rates during the month of November 2020. The average rate calculated at the WAEMU level was 6.49% excluding charges and taxes.

The survey on bank conditions indicates a decline in  lending interest rates during the month of November 2020. Excluding charges and taxes, the average rate calculated at the WAEMU level stood at 6.49% in the month under review against 6.66% a month earlier, a contraction of 17.29 basis points (bps).
The Bceao informs in its monthly note of economic conditions the increase in the cost of credit noted at the level of individuals has limited the downward trend in credit costs during the month of November 2020.
According to the institution,  the analysis following the purpose of the credit reveals that the fall in rates is localized at the level of export credits, cash and equipment.
