The current President of the Council of Territorial Communities of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), Mayor of the municipality of Treichville, François Albert Amichia, is making a working visit to Burkina Faso from 1 to 5 August 2021.

Mayor François Albert Amichia will chair a steering committee of the Regional Support Programme for Decentralization in the WAEMU Area (PRADEU) funded by Swiss Cooperation. This major program should eventually allow a better consideration of the challenges of Decentralization in favor of territorial actors and support for local authorities on institutional and operational projects. This mission will also see a meeting with the new President of the WAEMU Commission, Abdoulaye Diop, as well as Commissioners Paul Koffi Koffi and Joãozinho Mendes.

In addition, the President of the WAEMU CTC will preside over a ceremony to hand over 200 sewing machines to women's groups and associations in Burkina Faso, as part of the women's empowerment programme implemented by the CTC/UEMOA and the Green Fund for Women initiated by R 20, of which the Ivorian part has already received its endowment (200 machines). Finally, he will be received in audience by the current President of WAEMU, Roch Marc Kaboré, President of Faso.
