The BCEAO , through an ad hoc committee, wants to establish a directory of WAEMU fintechs (financial technologies), with a view to promoting their harmonious development in the community area.

This promotion will include the adaptation of the regulatory framework in force, and the establishment of an Innovation Hub and a Regulatory Sanbdox Laboratory.

In detail, "the Innovation Office supports the promoters of innovative projects, while the Regulatory Laboratory is in charge of supervising these initiatives, requiring a specific authorization for the exercise of the financial activity as a "FinTech", under the conditions provided for by the regulations ," it says.

The sub-regional issuing body therefore invites legal and natural persons, holders of Innovative Projects in the WAEMU financial sector, to fill in the form provided for this purpose, by next Friday (26 June 2020).
