On behalf of the State Treasury in Senegal, the BCEAO organized four issues of Treasury bills and eight issues of Treasury bonds during the fourth half of 2022. Successful bids in both bonds and Treasury bonds totaled $1145.3 billion during the year.

Treasury bill auctions revealed a weighted average rate of 3.4% and a marginal rate of 3%, reports the DPEE, for a total amount of successful bids of 81.3 billion. Indeed, over the past year, treasury bill issues reached 277.7 billion at an average rate of 2.9%. They thus increased by 172.7 billion and the average rate increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to 2021.

The amounts withheld by the Treasury in the fourth quarter of 2022 for bonds are estimated at 162.2 billion at a weighted average price of 9945 francs and a marginal price of 9840 francs. Treasury bond issues amounted to 867.6 billion, increasing by 382.7 billion in 2022 over the previous year.
