Following its simultaneous auction issuance of 364-day fungible treasury bills and 3, 5, and 7-year fungible treasury bonds, organized in partnership with UMOA-Titres on Friday, March 27, 2026, the Directorate General of Public Accounting and the Treasury (DGCPT) obtained the sum of 55 billion FCFA on the WAEMU financial market.

Senegal plans to ensure the financing of the budgetary needs of the State of Senegal. To this end, the DGCPT had put up for auction an amount of 50 billion FCFA. Investors' total bids amounted to 59.183 billion FCFA, corresponding to a coverage rate of 118.37% of the amount put up for auction.

The amount of bids accepted is 55 billion FCFA, and the amount rejected is 4.183 billion FCFA, resulting in an absorption rate of 92.93%.

Investors whose bids were accepted will receive a weighted average yield of 6.62% for 364-day bills, 7.63% for 3-year bonds, 7.64% for 5-year bonds, and 7.59% for 7-year bonds.

The DGCPT promises investors to repay the issued bills on the first business day following the maturity date set for March 28, 2027. Interest will be paid in advance by discounting it from the nominal value of these securities.

As for the repayment of the principal of the bonds, it is scheduled for the first business day following the maturity date set for March 30, 2029, for 3-year bonds, March 30, 2031, for 5-year bonds, and March 30, 2033, for 7-year bonds. The DGCPT will pay interest annually at a rate of 6.30% for 3-year bonds, 6.45% for 5-year bonds, and 6.60% for 7-year bonds, starting from the end of the first year.
