At 7:40 a.m., the yield on the ten-year Treasury bill, the market's benchmark, stood at 1.533%, compared with 1.561% on Wednesday night. The auction of $24 billion in long-term U.S. Treasuries on Wednesday struggled to boost trading in a generally sluggish session. However, the auction results showed that the appetite for sovereign bonds remained high.
