In partnership with Boeing , the company national Air Senegal a announced its first aircraft order from the American aircraft manufacturer since over 20 years, with the acquisition of nine 737 MAX 8s.

The aircraft order, the largest of the history of the company, is part of the expansion strategy regional and international air Senegal . In particular, the carrier plans to extend its network in Europe, serving secondary cities, and to launch new connections to the Middle East and the Americas departing from Dakar. According to CEO Tidane Ndiaye, “this acquisition marks a major step for air Senegal ”. According to him, “this command is part of the strategy of air Senegal aimed at strengthening and modernizing its fleet in order to support the expansion of its regional and intercontinental network and consolidate Dakar's position as a reference aviation hub in Africa the West.”

The Boeing 737-8, a single-aisle airplane can transport up to 178 passengers in dual-class configuration over a distance of 6,480 km. It offers significant energy efficiency. It reduces the consumption of fuel and emissions by 20%, while halving the footprint sound compared to the planes it replaces.
