Africa attracted 13.84 billion dollars of investments in the energy transition in 2025, according to the report” Africa's Power and Energy Transition Investment Report 2025” published on 17 February by Electron Intelligence. These financial flows are spread over 306 transactions conducted by 142 distinct investors in 43 countries on the continent.

Clean energies concentrate most of commitments, with 13.61 billion USD, or 98.3% of the amounts mobilized. La green electricity production dominates the segment, totaling 8.14 billion SOUTH. It is ahead of sectoral reform and strengthening programs. public services (2.40 billion USD), transmission infrastructure and distribution ($1.55 billion) as well as storage and flexibility (666 million USD).

In terms of financial instruments, debt is necessary as the main lever, representing 9.05 billion USD. Among the main donors, the Bank African development comes out on top with 1.77 billion USD committed, followed by the World Bank Group (1.04 billion USD), Standard Bank (922.1 million USD) and the European Union (794.6 million USD). The ten first-time investors alone account for more than 53% of financing, or 7.42 billion USD spread over 112 operations in 34 countries
