The Minister of State and Territorial Government of Cape Verde announced that the SimpleL project represents an investment strategic of around 125,000 escudos in digital transformation and the administrative modernization of two municipalities, with the aim of strengthen decentralization. The announcement was made during the speech Opening of the workshop presenting the work carried out as part of the project Simple.

The simPLE project is an update of the municipal information system, with significant advances in land management, accountability and administrative efficiency for local authorities. by Elsewhere, this project, financed by the World Bank under the program HISWAP/Cape Verde, concerns all municipalities in the country and aims to optimize the delivery of local public services

According to the minister, “once implemented and operational, this device will allow local authorities to have of an adequate management and use mechanism for their own financial resources, two resources transferred to the Financing Fund municipal and two others obtained through international cooperation ”.

The minister also said that SimpleD fits in a government policy aimed at strengthening decentralization and establishment of accounting services, and that it is in line with the reforms ongoing in the field of municipal financial regime and modernization local authorities.
