The African Development Bank (AfDB) continues to significantly intensify its actions to generate Africa's productive transformation. For the coming years, it has designed a development strategy to place itself at the center of the transformation and improve the growth of the continent. Among its actions, the AfDB mobilizes the technical, human and financial resources necessary for the transformation of the continent. Its objectives include : promoting investment in African member countries; contribute to their sustainable economic development, support them in their social progress, enable people to live healthy lives, unlock human potential, strengthen the global partnership for sustainable development, encourage inclusive growth and the transition to a prosperous world and Africa.
The financial institution has continued and intensified, over the years, its actions with the objective of improving the effectiveness of its aid and the quality of its operations and programs, by supporting the development efforts of its regional member countries and strengthening their capacities. The African Development Bank for the period 2013 to 2022 reflects the aspirations of the entire African continent. It is firmly rooted in in-depth knowledge and experience of how far Africa has come over the past decade and where it wants to go in the next one," said the AfDB Group.
This strategy focuses on improving the quality of Africa's growth and transitioning to green growth. "When growth is both inclusive and 'green', it creates the jobs the continent needs now and will need in even greater numbers as millions more young people enter the labour market, with energies and aspirations that need to be met," explains the AfDB.
