On Friday, October 21, 2022, the Antwerp Criminal Court convicted three drivers of container lifts or horse trucks for their involvement in cocaine trafficking.

A container carrying banana puree from Costa Rica was found at the MPET terminal on Friday December 2018 and then disappeared without a trace. Indeed, it turned out that the stamps had been forged and Customs immediately suspected that a batch of cocaine had been removed from the container. The drugs were transported from the South American container to a European container to reduce the risk of control, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Thus, one driver was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 20,000 euros, another was sentenced to four and a half years of imprisonment and a fine of 22,000 euros, while the third was sentenced to six years in prison and a fine of 24,000 euros.
