From Mauritius to Angola to South Africa South and Gabon -between summits and state visits- President Emmanuel Macron plans to affirm a “win-win partnership” in several sectors.

France and the African Union want to “strengthen [their] cooperation” in the trade sector according to discussions between Emmanuel Macron and the President of the AU Commission Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, on the sidelines of the EU-AU Summit which ended on November 25 in Luanda.

The local processing of Gabonese manganese required in Eramet Macron's first visit since the fall of the Bongo regime, she led to the signing of several financial agreements, in particular between the Gabonese government and L'Agence development french (AFD) for funding -provided by France and the EU- of the plan to relaunch the rail network. Of a total amount of 203 million euros, this envelope will be provided at the right time of 173 million euros in the form of a loan and 30 million euros of grant. The project is important because it aims to support the mining industry in which France has been involved in Gabon for decades.

On the private sector side of both countries, an agreement between companies will allow Cristalco France to supply sugar to the Syndicat Sucres in Mauritius, the organization that brings together sugar producers from country. Likewise, the InVivo group will supply French wheat to Les Moulins de la Concorde, a key company in the island's food security approach.
