Commercial Bank Chad gets a loan to support local small businesses.

Consented by the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), the loan obtained by Commercial Bank Chad amounts to 15 billion FCFA ($23.2 million). It is intended to finance small local businesses in the country. The line of credit will be returned to Chadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the form of loans. BDEAC, a minority shareholder in Commercial Bank Chad, says that this loan granted to the Chadian bank will allow beneficiary companies to increase their income and develop better. The development financial institution also says it wants to reach, through this financing mechanism, “numerous customers whose financial needs are often below the statutory intervention threshold.” This agreement comes after the IMF's demand to recapitalize Commercial Bank Chad.
