An expanded working session was held on Friday 17 October last between the Mauritanian delegation participating in the Assemblies annuals of Group of the World Bank (BM) and International Monetary Fund (FMI ) , and the vice president for Africa Society international finance (IFC).

The meeting which was attended by the resident representative of the SFI in Mauritania, Ms. Alice Ouedraogo, and several senior collaborators of the Vice President, is part of a series of meetings organized by the Mauritanian delegation with international partners in order to strengthen cooperation with multilateral financial and development institutions. The discussions focused on the prospects for developing the partnership between Mauritania and the IFC, particularly in the areas of financing the sector private sector, broadening the investment base and supporting the capacity of the banking sector to mobilize resources for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The two sides also discussed the possibilities. of setting up new lines of financing in order to improve access to sustainable financing and to stimulate high-value productive sectors added. Also, they emphasized the essential role of International Finance Corporation (SFI) in supporting Mauritania's economic transformation, as it is an essential lever for accelerating the growth of the private sector, improving the business climate and attracting investments.
