The generalization of the payment of workers' wages by electronic means would allow Senegal to inject an additional 45 billion FCFA into the Senegalese economy per year. This is the conclusion of a study conducted jointly and published today by the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (Ansd) of Senegal, the World Bank and Better Than Cash Alliance (United Nations).

According to the study, if the only 7% of wages that were paid electronically in Senegal in 2018 were increased to 50%, particularly on the private side, this would protect the most precarious workers and inject an additional 45 billion FCFA into the economy. Senegalese economy per year.
For the authors of said study, the digitization of workers' compensation is proving to be a vector of inclusion, worker well-being and productivity for companies. The report indicates that 58% of companies surveyed that have taken the plunge into digitalization have effectively achieved their transparency and security objectives and also recognize that they have increased productivity and optimized their operational costs.
