The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) reported that Senegal's trade balance in January 2023 stood at 208.5 billion CFA francs compared to 514.8 billion CFA francs in the previous month, representing a reduction in the deficit of 306.3 billions of CFA francs

The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) has announced that the reduction in the trade deficit of 306.3 billion CFA francs in Senegal is due to the good behavior of exports (+92.4 billion FCFA) in the face of a fall in imports (-213.9 billion FCFA). The increase in exports was driven by exports of seafood (+23.8 billion FCFA), petroleum products (+28.2 billion FCFA), and mineral and chemical fertilizers (+9.8 billion FCFA)

The fall in imports was due to the fall in grain products (-18.3 billion FCFA), transport equipment (-114.3 billion FCFA), petroleum products (-87.4 billion FCFA), and motor machinery and equipment (-6.6 billion FCFA).
