Moroccan-Guinean cooperation in the field of higher education is reaching a new level. In Conakry, the signing of a partnership between Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and the Service National des Bourses Extériens (SNABE) of Guinea marks a strategic step with the common ambition to form excellent human capital at the service of Simandou 2040 program.

The agreement was initialled on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at of an official ceremony presided over by the Minister Director of the Office of President of the Republic and President of the Simandou Strategic Committee, M. Djiba Diakité. The event was held in the presence of advisers from the Guinean Presidency, of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Guinea, of managers of SNABE, a UM6P delegation as well as members of the Board of directors of the scholarship service, according to a press release from the Presidency.

Through this major academic partnership, Conakry and Rabat intends to structure a very high level of higher education level, capable of meeting the needs for scientific skills, techniques and managerials related to the economic transformation envisaged in the setting of Simandou 2040. In particular, the Guinean authorities emphasize on “the access of the country's daughters and sons to higher education of very high quality high quality”, considering education as a central lever for development.

This initiative is fully in line with the three objectives assigned to Simandou Academy: promote excellence in education, research and innovation in the Republic of Guinea; strengthen national capacities through advanced training; and building lasting partnerships with the best universities and schools around the world international. The stated objective is to guarantee one training at a time open to the world and deeply rooted in realities and priorities Guinean women.
