As part of the implementation of the Integrated Agricultural Platforms Construction Project (Microsol-Uemoa) in Senegal, the Uemoa Commissioner in charge of the Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and the Environment (Daren ), Jonas Gbian visits the Diama Maraye site in Saint-Louis.

Commissioner Jonas Gbian has been carrying out a field mission to Senegal since April 29, 2021 as part of the implementation of the Microsol-UEMOA project. This visit made it possible to assess the proper functioning of the project installations which were the subject of provisional acceptance on April 1, 2021, in particular the electrical (Schneider-Electric containerized solution) and thermal modules, the parabolic cylinder thermal sensors and the generating set and its premises.

The Microsol-Uemoa Project will benefit more than one hundred thousand (100,000) people who will have access to the electrical energy needed for irrigation, lighting, fish farming, agricultural processing and the supply of drinking water, and this, without emitting CO2.
The visit extended to the farm's fish ponds consisting of water settling tanks, breeding tanks, hatcheries and rearing tanks. During his stay, Commissioner Gbian and his suite were also received in audience by Moussa Baldé, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Equipment of Senegal.

This meeting was an opportunity for the two authorities to review the portfolio of projects of the UEMOA Commission in the agricultural field, in particular, the Microsol-UEMOA project, the project for the construction of storage warehouses, the projects support for the structuring of the rice and maize sectors, as well as the support project for the operationalization of the regional agricultural information system (Siar).
