The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) announced in a publication that industrial production increased by 12.5% during the first two months of the year compared to the same period of last year.

In its note on the evolution of industrial production, the ANSD indicates that “over the first two months of 2021, industrial production increased by 12.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2020”. She points out that in February, industrial production excluding cotton ginning had increased by 10.4% compared to that of the same period of 2020.
The ANSD indicates that this development is attributable to the performance noted in the extractive (+52.4%) and manufacturing (+6.2%) industries. On the other hand, the production of environmental industries and that of electricity, water and gas had posted respective declines of 4.8% and 0.2%.
