The State of Senegal, through its General Directorate of Public Accounting and Treasury, raised on January 15, 2021 on the financial market of the West African Monetary Union (WAMU) an amount of 79.800 billion FCFA (119.700 million euros) at the end of its simultaneous issuance by auction of Assimilable Treasury Bonds (OAT) with maturities of 36 and 60 months, organized in partnership with the UMOA-Titres Agency based in Dakar.

Investors operating in this market responded to the request of the Senegalese public treasury which was looking for 75 billion FCFA, by proposing global bids of 84.805 billion FCFA. This gives a coverage rate of the amount put out to tender of 113.07%. Of the total amount of bids, the Senegalese treasury withheld 79.8 trillion CFA francs and rejected the remaining 5.005 billion CFA francs.


 
This gives a very high absorption rate of 94.10% The securities issued will be repaid on the first working day following the maturity date set at 18 January 2024 for 3-year OAT and 18 January 2026 for 5-year OAT. As for interest, it is payable annually on the basis of a fixed rate of 5.60% for 3-year OAT and 5.70% for 5-year OAT, from the end of the first year.
