The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) announced an increase in industrial production prices in June, excluding cotton ginning.

Industrial activity in June 2022 was marked by a 1.8% increase in industrial production prices, excluding cotton ginning, compared to the previous month. According to the agency, this development is mainly related to the increase in the price of manufactured goods (+4.1%).

Industrial production prices excluding cotton ginning jumped by 26.4% in June 2022, in annual variation, under the effect of the appreciation of prices of extractive products (+32.4%) and manufacturing products (+29.2%). Cotton ginning prices rose by 30.5% in monthly variation and 69.8% in annual variation. Over the first six months of 2022, they rose by 43.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.
