Youth unemployment and underemployment are among the main development challenges for Africa on the eve of an unprecedented demographic transition. Senegal has 300,000 new job seekers each year.

300,000 job seekers arrive on the job market each year, while the supply hardly exceeds 100,000. "Unemployment and underemployment therefore create growing disillusionment and frustration among young people, some of whom to illegal emigration or are thinking about it very seriously", observes Chams Diagne, founder of the firm Talent2Africa specializing in the recruitment of talent in Africa.
The African Development Bank has adopted a Strategy for Jobs for Youth in Africa (SEJA) for the period 2016-2025 with the aim of providing a response to this problem. The latter aims to create 25 million jobs and develop the professional and entrepreneurial skills of 50 million other young people over the next 10 years.
Senegal could very well take inspiration from this model to engage the various actors in the implementation of a new youth plan.
