FirstBank launched yesterday, Monday, October 27, 2025 the ninth edition of its Corporate Responsibility Week and sustainability CRS 2025. Activities will end on November 1 next.

FirstBank announced that CRS is mirroring its commitment to the empowerment of communities, the management of the environment of communities, environmental management and the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. During of this annual event, the Bank mobilizes employees from across FirstBank group, including FirstBank Nigeria, FirstBank Nigeria, FirstBank UK, FirstBank Gambia, FirstBank Sierra Leone, FirstBank DRC, FirstBank DRC, FirstBank DRC, FirstBank DRC, FirstBank Guinea, FBNBank Senegal, First Pension and First Nominees, to devote their time and their resources to significant causes aligned with the strategy of sustainable development of the Bank.

At the end of CRS 2025, Olayinka Ijabiyi, director Interim Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at FirstBank a declared that “the week of social and environmental responsibility is a call to action. It's about mobilizing for humanity, about being caring for each other and to prove that even the smallest actions can lead to lasting change. FirstBank is convinced that the Kindness is invaluable. That is why, every year since 2017, the teams are mobilizing to contribute to the life of communities through to the SPARK initiative, while encouraging individuals to take action spontaneous benevolence.”

The financial institution plans to plant at least 20,000 trees this week, in partnership with the Nigerian Foundation for conservation, as part of the final phase of its support for Nigeria's decarbonization program by 2060. This effort is part of in line with the Bank's commitment to plant 50,000 trees by 2025, of which 31,000 were successfully planted during the two last years.
