On Saturday, November 22, 2025, a workshop was held exchanges and information in Dakar. Organized by the Amicale des Inspectors du Trésor du Sénégal (AITS), this meeting focuses on securing the public management through insurance underwriting as a tool for risk prevention for public accountants.

“Securing Public Management: The underwriting insurance as a risk prevention tool for public accountants” is the theme around which the workshop focused of exchange. Among other things, it aims to “assess the feasibility of a group insurance coverage, to develop the bases of a regulatory framework and contractual”, according to the Director General of Public Accountancy and of the Treasury (DGCPT), Amadou Tidiane Gaye.

For the latter, “this encounter is the first step towards defining a regulatory and contractual framework for a future national professional insurance system. It's an opportunity to engage in a frank, technical and constructive dialogue with the houses guest insurance companies.”

This workshop is thus “the first step. Towards the establishment of a liability insurance system professional for public accountants”.

According to the chief accounting officer Public Treasury, “the objective is neither to dilute responsibility criminal law or to encourage negligence, but to protect agents from disproportionate financial consequences when the fault is in addition neither voluntary or fraudulent.”
