additional $28 million for Benin in order to continue the
Economic Governance and Sector Development Support Programme

additional funding completes the exemplary implementation of both
first phases of the program by the government of the Republic of Benin”.
In terms of expected results, the program aims to
contribute to the achievement of convincing results by 2025: a
increase in private investment to 35.5% of gross domestic product
(GDP) in 2025 (compared to 29.9% in 2022); an increase in the amount
investments in the Glo-Djigbé special economic zone in
23 billion CFA francs, about 40.5 million dollars
(compared to 11 billion CFA francs, or about $19.3 million
in 2021); and an increase in the added value of industries
agri-food to 7.7% of GDP in 2025 (against 6.1% in 2022).
