On the margins of the Annual Meetings of Group of the World Bank and of the Monetary Fund international , the Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdallahi Ould Souleymane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, a met Tuesday in Washington with the CEO of the International Islamic Society of Trade Finance (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Bank Group of development (BID).

The meeting between the Minister of Business Economic and Development and the CEO of ITFC allowed us to examine the existing areas of cooperation between Mauritania and the Society, in particular financing commodity imports, trade support Intra-OIC and institutional capacity building in the fields trade finance and export development. Both parties also discussed opportunities to expand the cooperation to include support to the private sector and financing of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the promotion of initiatives aimed at develop agricultural and industrial value chains.

During the discussions, they examined ways to strengthen the role of the Corporation in supporting the Mauritanian economy, by financing vital imports and by promoting the country's integration into the Islamic trading system, and to expand this partnership covers wider areas.
