The Assises des Etats Généraux is organized by the
Central Bank of Mauritania (BCM), institution under the responsibility of
Who is responsible for supervising the insurance sector following the adoption
in September 2025 of a new regulation. This meeting brings together
several hundred players in the sector. The aim is to establish the
diagnosis “of a poorly developed market, but with great potential
of growth, which is recording a positive dynamic, increased
almost exclusively by the non-life segment, since 2020.”
The Central Bank of Mauritania (BCM) has thrown its focused on “Finactu Consulting and Corporat Finance”, a consulting firm in Finance and Strategy, whose logistics base is located in Casablanca, at Morocco, to pilot the upgrade of the insurance system in Mauritania. This private institution has already carried out several similar operations in North Africa: Morocco, Tunisia and West Africa.
The reform of the insurance sector in Mauritania
will be structured around three (3) essential components “the
co-construction of a program contract, involving the various parties
stakeholders at the service of the development of the sector, participatory development
of a new Insurance Code and the modernization of the control system
”.
