The 5th edition of the Regional Craft Show (SARA) opened on Friday, October 25, 2025 in Tenkodogo, Burkina Faso. “Craftsmanship Burkinabe and industrialization: what contribution to sovereignty national? ” is the theme of this event.

At the opening of the 5th edition of the Regional Exhibition of crafts, Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo welcomed the “exceptional contribution” of the sector of handicrafts in the economic and social development of Burkina Faso, emphasizing that it employs nearly two million people and contributes about 30% to the gross domestic product (GDP).

The latter indicated that the Burkinabe government has took incentives such as the establishment of kidnapping quotas at the import of products already manufactured locally in order to facilitate the flow of national productions and to strengthen the competitiveness of craft and industrial units.

The minister also indicated that the craft sector remains a reliable source of creation of returns to the populations and it continues in the same way as the industry of support the national economy through the ingenuity and resilience of Burkinabe populations.
