The process of drawing up the 2021 finance law entered its decisive phase on Tuesday with the appearance of the ministries and institutions of the State before the Commission for Economic and Financial Affairs of the National Assembly to present their programs, the indicators of performance to evaluate them and the related financial allocations. This innovation took place in favor of the switchover of Côte d'Ivoire from the resource budget to the program budget, in January 2020, as part of the implementation of the second generation public finance management reforms initiated by the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). The draft budget for the year 2021 amounts to 8,398.9 billion FCFA and is structured in 35 allocations and 149 programs.

The Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM), the common stock exchange of the eight WAEMU countries, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d'Ivoire (AMCHAM CI) signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday in Abidjan. The signing of this agreement is part of the development actions undertaken for several years by the BRVM in order to forge strategic partnerships aimed at promoting the opportunities it offers both to issuers and investors. The memorandum aims to create a formal framework for collaboration between the two organizations with a view to carrying out activities to promote the WAEMU regional financial market.

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene recorded 16 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday out of 370 samples taken, i.e. 4.3% of positive cases, 12 cured and one death. As of November 17, Côte d'Ivoire therefore has 21,004 confirmed cases, including 20,675 people cured, 129 deaths and 200 active cases. The total number of samples is 205,598. End
