Thus, as part of a program to stabilize its economy, the country has just received a new financing of 22.1 million dollars.
This financing is part of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) agreement concluded between the country and the IMF on December 11, 2019. According to the financial institution, it has a duration of four years, with an overall access to 155 million special drawing rights (SDR), or about 214.30 million dollars. Following the fourth review of the CEF, it brings total disbursements under the agreement to about $110.7 million.
In 2021, after the implementation of several sound macroeconomic policies, the country recorded a growth rate of 4.7 percent, but the IMF expects a slowdown this year to 3.7 percent. This forecast is due to increased global uncertainties and commodity price shocks, and risks related to the potential emergence of new variants of covid-19.
