The MPLA Central Committee recommended on Friday, to Luanda, the creation of a National Fund for Local Content. This fund will support the strengthening of entrepreneurial capacities and technological enterprises of Angolan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The recommendation of the MPLA Central Committee is among the resolutions resulting from the 9th ordinary session of the Central Committee, chaired by the President of the Party, João Lourenço. Were discussed during this session, the theme “Local content: the experience of the oil sector”, with the presentation of the main performance indicators and of short, medium and long term development prospects among other topics.

According to the MPLA, the rigorous implementation of these measures are essential to transform natural resources into sustainable development and in national economic sovereignty.

At the internal organizational level, the Committee central approved the Party's annual business plan and budget for 2026, as well as the holding of the 8th Ordinary Congress of the OMA, the 9th Ordinary Congress of MPLA, and the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Party, in addition to the preparation of the MPLA in view of the 2027 general elections.

The body also defended the establishment of mechanisms for permanent coordination between the State, the private sector, universities, technical schools, vocational training centers and financial institutions, in order to create synergies and strengthen national competitiveness.

Among the orientations outcomes of the session also include the strengthening of the regulatory framework of Presidential Decree No. 271/20, of 20 October, establishing the legal regime local content in the oil sector, in particular through the definition key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurable goals
